Very good. Vti Horsham, UK 2 contributions. This is by far the worst water park I have ever been to and I have been to water parks all over the world The first thing you come across is the entry booth where they take at least 5 minutes to process each ticket while everyone else in line bakes in the sun.
The changing rooms are third rate at best. Once you get into the actual park there is hardly anything there and the walkways are not water sprayed - not good when it is 95f and the walkways are white concrete.
There are sand areas that are filthy, there is all manner of rubbish and debris buried in the sand. The final straw was when my son stopped 18inches short of the end of the kids slide and a full rescue was initiated, complete with life guards running, whistles blowing and pushing us out of the way, while the whole time we could have reached him from the bottom of the slide.
I then had a form thrust in my face and it was demanded that I filled in all sorts of personal and private information about him as he had been "lifesaved". I politely declined, expressed my displeasure, demanded a refund and left. What a joke.
There is a complete lack of any sort of common sense in this place and there is nothing there that justifies the cost, which is very high once you have paid over inflated prices for parking, entrance, lockers etc. It is a nice family destination, but it gets boring after a short priod of time since there are only 2 slides to go down on with a tube,4 for on your back, and a lazy river. There are also accomidations for young children and lots of lawn chairs for older people to soak up rays on.
I found out the hard way waiting in a line for at least a half hour then being told just before my turn that they do not alow shirts on the slides. This park wasnt too bad for the price, I wouldnt recomend going a lot of kids. ReviewBud Boston 1 contribution. Horrible experience, feels like a prison. We started our day in the lazy river and then saw the green slides up to the left.
We then hopped out of the lazy river only to be screamed at by the unfriendly staff for not going out in a proper exit. We then got back in the river and waited for the next exit where there was a staff member standing saying that the exit was closed and we could not leave that way.
I felt trapped in the lazy river. The staff member said they were cleaning "stuff" but would not even specify what this "stuff" was. The tubes in the lazy river were flat if you could even get a tube. The water was grossly warm and very murky. The park wasn't overly crowded yet somehow the lines for the slides piled and piled up once the slides had finally been opened.
They had been closed due to lightning even though it was a beautiful sunny day out. Overall this was the worst experience at a water park it have ever had. Staff members lurk the whole park like prison guards waiting to blow their whistles. I was even threatened to be kicked out at one point for trying again to hop out of the lazy river.
I recommend this park to no one as it is anything but a good time. Trail Port Charlotte, FL 1 contribution. Sun Splash is a great place to entertain children from It is also a relazing way to spend the day for an adult by grabbing a tube and getting in the Lazy River for the DAY!
My husband and I go to the park to just float around the river but only try that during the week on a less traveled day. My grand children like it better than the Theme Parks and they are years old. Journey North Port, Florida 1 contribution.
Sun Splash is a great place to take kids- it's not so large and crowded that they will get lost- and the rides are just enough to keep them occupied without getting you worried. The Lazy river is a nice place to soak up some sun while the kids play in the very large kids water area.
Not too expensive, either. Altogether- not for thrill seekers, just for some nice family fun. I was traveling there from Ohio, and before I went I looked up reviews and even used this site. The reviews did not help me at all. We got there and stayed for a half hour and demanded our money back. They gave it to all of us with no problem. It's super cheap and you definitely get what you pay for! It was super trashy, and there were no seats to sit on, If there were seats, they were at the "beach" part of the park, where old broken lounge chairs were set in sand!
Why have sand at a water park? Also, we couldn't find tubes anywhere, and the slides looked like they were built in the 70's. I would have a lot more material if I would have stayed longer, but that was enough for me. And the lockers were a rip off too!!
I'm SOO glad I didn't waste my money on those! I almost left after going into the gross changing rooms to change into my bathing suit! The whole experience was horrible. I will never return.
Nurse Southwest Florida 6 contributions. Great park! A little slice of Orlando for a great price I want to respond to some of the negative comments.
Of course they'll be kids there! Your kids are probably misbehaving too somewhere, and like you never ran around a pool when you were a kid.
I have to say I was there today and was pleased to see a lifeguard instruct two boys out of the lazy river ride and squat down and give them a polite talking to. It seems like they have zero tolerance for horseplay, maybe that was a past problem which is now corrected. If you want a tube to float in the pool or lazy river go early or during the week.
Same thing goes for staking out your beach lounger. We went today on the late side, couldn't get lounges and ending up "setting up camp" at the picnic tables on the grass. No problem for us, we were there to get wet! When we finished in the water and had a snack, it was convenient to eat at a table. It was nice to have a table to lean on when we read the paper a bit later.
My point is, be flexible, enjoy yourself, you're there to relax. Just a few comments to add to the overall positive remarks this place gets. I love being there, it's relaxing, reasonable and a break from the usual city park. Give it a try! Winter73 Menton, France 80 contributions. Closed on weekdays. No info anywhere on the net.
We are here on vacation from France so our source of information is the internet. If you want to leave the park and come back later in the same day, you can! All you need is a hand stamp before you leave the premises.
