While giving every champion a title shot might not be feasible, it would be sensible to put the reigning champion into gimmick PPVs like the Royal Rumble, Money in the Bank and, if it ever comes back, the King of the Ring tournament.
But, they can occasionally make guest appearances and face off in tag team matches. It would be interesting to see, for example, CM Punk facing Daniel Bryan in a tag team match with rookies as their partners. Professional Wrestling is built on hype. If Raw is going to be a three-hour show, NXT should get at least 15 minutes on it in a regular basis. If NXT is done right, it can be a wonderful addition to WWE's programming instead of just being "the other show that has some guys I don't know" to the fans.
If it is made relevant, it can add to the WWE arsenal. I actually forgot when it started! I stopped watching a couple of weeks ago, because it was making me sick. Why are the same guys competing on NXT for over 6 months? Go ahead and pick a damn winner! Is he even still in? ChiefAlot Occasional Pre-Show.

A whole new show. Instead of 8 new rookies or whatever they do just have 1 or 2 and prove themselves against mid-card guys. It could be a win win. Okay Fabian Occasional Pre-Show. Joined: Oct 26, Messages: 64 Likes Received: Why has Season 5 of NXT been so long?
A: Season 5 is so long because WWE is obligated to provide original televised content to several networks overseas. They can't just end the season online in the US because they have to uphold their contracts with these networks. My guess is the season has been extended indefinitely as well because they didn't want to rush into Season 6. Q: What does Season 5 have the Redemption theme? My guess is that they wanted to feature some of their more experienced developmental talent and that they weren't ready for a season of new talent.
I don't know for sure, but I think the whole "Winner gets a spot on Season 6" might be up in the air at this point. It seems like they have dropped all the voting, redemption points, and challenges.
Some week it's a contest, and other weeks it isn't, with the Redemption point that once meant something now being deemed completely irrelevant. For months on end, reports had indicated the season or show for that matter would soon be coming to a close, but with no such luck. Speaking of Rollins, he commented on the issue just recently when a Twitter user asked him if he'll partake in a future season of NXT. Rollins replied by saying that the NXT: Redemption was "never-ending" and it's unlikely we'll see another installment come to fruition due to it evolving into a "third brand.
Two weeks ago, ECW celebrated the two-year anniversary of the day it closed its door for good in favor of the innovative NXT. Ironically enough, the only difference between the two programs was that ECW featured championship matches, something that is evidently missing from NXT since it's early beginnings.
The talent is much of the same as well, seeing as both shows brought up talent from FCW. From my knowledge, the only true rookies to benefit from NXT were current reigning world heavyweight champion Daniel Bryan and Wade Barrett, whereas the rest have been floundering since their respective departures from the program.
